Final Fantasy VII | Episode 6: Is ‘Armageddon’ a rip-off of FF7?

Before Sean breaks some serious Armageddon/Michael Bay/FF7 related news, we deep dive - along with Cloud and Tifa - into the life stream. Surprise, surprise, Simon offers little to no insight. We begin our hunt for the huge materia and discuss if the Ancient Forest is the worst mini-game in history. This discussion causes us to have some chocobo chit-chat followed by revisiting Rocket Town, where we discuss the long-suffering Shera’s vindication. Thankfully, we engage in some more Bugey analysis as he joins the party on the Highwind. All three of the gang decide that they love going in the submarine which causes Simon to harp on about the vastness of the game yet again. We have yet more fruitless Sephiroth/Hojo backstory discussions before Sean has his finest twenty minutes. Did Michael Bay plagiarise Final Fantasy VII for his 1998 blockbuster, ‘Armageddon’?
